What is the Tracker sampling memory time? No, this isn't possible, and not really intended in a tracker type instrument. Limits force creativityĬan audio be passed through from line in straight to output in Tracker?

But you can do it old-school way - granular with an envelope on position. Unavailable in the classic trackers and also in PT. Is time stretching available in the Tracker? Tracker can't play its patterns and record audio at the same time due to its hardware limitations. "Is it possible to resample the Tracker's audio output? I'm bummed that many features will never be implemented, but huge props to Polyend for providing this info so potential buyers can make an informed decision.ĭid anyone else notice that they did not mention that increased sample memory would never be possible? They pointed out that a few features will never make it into Tracker, but they didn't mention it regarding increased sample memory.

Just checked out Polyend's FAQ for Tracker.

The big limitation is the overall memory for samples, it's not enough for a bunch of full song-length stems, just pattern-length loops. So yes you could play complete loops or prerecorded submixes within your patterns. In my world trackers are for a super fast data entry-style creative process though as soon as some more of Polyend's MIDI improvements come through in the firmware that could change - I have a custom MIDI controller that I want to try looper-style recording of notes and CC data within Tracker.Ģ) It will play a sample indefinitely as long as it's not interrupted by something new in the same track, a note cut/fade/off command, or it ends (if it's a 1-shot sample - the default- instead of set to loop). How does it handle long samples? Can you do a long sample, like a drone or percussion track and do other patterns along with it easily?ġ) Note quantization can be turned off in favor of enabling micro-timing, so yes you can. Does the Polyend tracker force quantization of note timing to some division of the time signature or can you record for example swinging notes and they will be played back as you played them?Ģ. I have two quick questions (long-term Renoise user here):ġ.
